Are you still accepting author or speaker submissions for the 2026 festival?
No. The programme for the 2026 festival is now full.
While a small number of sessions are still being confirmed, these are reserved for authors who are finalising schedules. We also have a substantial reserve list in place.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accept any further author or speaker submissions for 2026.
We are exploring the possibility of hosting smaller events in the run-up to the festival later in 2026. These plans are not yet finalised.
Any additional events will be announced via our newsletter and social media once confirmed.
Do you run author events outside of the festival?
AuthorEvents.co.uk hosts author events throughout the year, including book clubs, author meet-ups, workshops, and talks.
These currently take place locally in Dorset and will be expanding nationally during 2026. We recommend checking the Events page regularly and signing up to the newsletter to stay up to date.
I’m interested in speaking at one the AuthorEvents book clubs or talks – how does that work?
Speaking opportunities at our events are prioritised for members.
If you are interested in being involved as a speaker in future events, we recommend exploring our membership options, which offer priority consideration for speaking slots.
Will there be half-day tickets for the 2026 festival?
Yes, we plan to release half-day tickets for the 2026 Coastal Crime Fiction Festival.
We are currently finalising the programme before releasing additional ticket formats. Early bird tickets are available during this period at a discounted rate.
All new ticket options will be announced via our newsletter and social media once they go live.
Will there be other ticket formats released for 2026?
Yes. Additional ticket formats will be released once the programme is fully confirmed.
At present, we are focusing on early bird ticket sales while final details are confirmed. Updates on further ticket releases will be shared through our newsletter and social media channels.
Will you be offering concessionary or discounted tickets?
We aim to offer discounted and concessionary tickets if funding allows.
We are currently seeking sponsorship and additional funding, and any concessionary ticket schemes will depend on the success of this fundraising. Plans have not yet been finalised.
All updates will be shared via our newsletter and social media once confirmed.
Can I volunteer at the festival?
Yes – and we’re very grateful to everyone who has expressed an interest in volunteering.
Volunteers play a vital role in helping the Coastal Crime Fiction Festival run smoothly, and we really value the time, enthusiasm, and support of those who get involved.
We currently have a form available to register your interest in volunteering during the festival. Registering your interest doesn’t guarantee a volunteer role, but it does allow us to contact you when volunteer opportunities are confirmed and roles are finalised.
Further details will be shared closer to the festival.
You can register your interest here:

Will sessions be recorded or live-streamed?
No. Festival sessions will not be recorded or live streamed.
We will have a photographer and videographer on site during the festival; however, this content is for promotional and marketing purposes only. Full talks, panels, and sessions will not be recorded.
To respect our speakers and their work, attendees are also asked not to record sessions for public sharing.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. The festival venue is accessible.
All festival sessions will take place on the ground floor of the hotel, making them accessible for attendees with mobility requirements. Further accessibility information will be published on the website closer to the festival.
If specific access needs arise, attendees will be encouraged to contact us ahead of the event once full details are available
Are applications open for the 2027 Coastal Crime Fiction Festival?
We’re delighted by the level of enthusiasm, but as we are still delivering the 2026 festival, we won’t be opening applications or expressions of interest for 2027 until October 2026.
At that point, all opportunities to get involved (authors, publishers, booksellers, partners and volunteers) will be published on a dedicated page on our website, with a clear application process.
To make sure you don’t miss the launch, we recommend:
- signing up to our newsletter
- following us on social media (@CoastalCrime)
